Low Noise Air Operated Diaphragm Pump For Alkali And Various Organic Solvents

Air Operated Diaphragm (AOD) Pumps were designed to resolve numerous problems that pumpers’ face on a job site. Whether you have limited space, are moving fluids with mixed solids or compositions, or require a safe priming pump system for your job, our AOD pumps provide a portable solution to get the job done.

Operating through a dual-diaphragm fluid chamber, positive displacement creates an air vacuum, initiating quick priming with minimal effort. Once primed, air operated diaphragm pumps are capable of passing up to 1-¼ inch solids (up to 90% solid composition) and highly viscous fluids with ratings exceeding 25,000 cPs. AOD Pumps’ fluid handling, portability and durability make them a versatile pump for any job application.

WHAT TO USE DIAPHRAGM PUMPS FOR?

What can you use an AOD pump for in your brewery?

  • Transfer and consolidation of finished beer
  • Yeast Transfer
  • Waste yeast from the fermentation vessels
  • Bulk chemical transfer for tank cleaning
  • Transfer of beer to and from barrels

Basically, you can use the AOD for anything that transfers your product at lower temperatures. It can even move your yeast or waste product. They can be completely sanitary, so it's okay to put your beer through them. They’re also great for carbonated drinks because the low speeds do not transfer kinetic energy to the product.

Air Operated Diaphragm Pump Advantage

1. No irrigation water, suction up to 5 meters, head up to 70 meters, the outlet pressure > 7bar

2. Wide flow and good performance, which allows the maximum particle diameter of 10 mm. Pumping mud, impurities, minimal wear and tear on the pump

3. Head, flow through the valve open to realize the stepless adjustment (pressure regulator between 1-7bar)

4. The pump has no moving parts, no seals, diaphragms exhausted medium and pump running parts, working medium is completely separated from the transmission medium does not leak out. So pumping toxic, volatile or corrosive media, will not cause environmental pollution and danger to personal safety.

5. Do not have electricity, flammable and explosive places safe and reliable.

6. Can be immersed in the medium.

7. Easy to use, reliable, open stop simply open and close the gas valve, even for long periods because of accident or sudden stop running without media will not result in damage to the pump, once the overload, the pump will automatically shut down, with self-protection performance, when the load is back to normal, and can automatically start running.

HOW DO AIR OPERATED DIAPHRAGM PUMPS WORK?

The key element that makes AOD pumps unique is that they use compressed air from a separate air compressor; instead of using an electric motor.

The pump consists of four check valves/balls, two diaphragms, a rod assembly in the centre of the pump, and two air valves. The two diaphragms move in and out of the fluid sections; one diaphragm will be in suction while the other is in discharge.

While in suction mode, the diaphragm creates a low-pressure zone as it moves out of the fluid section, pulling liquid into the pump.

The diaphragm then moves back into the fluid section forcing the product up to the balls/check valves and then the outlet, this is discharge mode.

The rod assembly moves the air pressure between the diaphragms to shift them from side to side; exactly how this is done is different from model to model.

The check valves have balls in them that are moved up and down by the pressure that the diaphragms forms, this opens and closes the valves. The combination of the diaphragm and the balls create a pressure vacuum that moves the product through the pump.
